A Beautiful Practice For All Your Dental Needs
When Should my Child’s First dental visit be?
Tooth decay (cavities) is the single most common childhood disease. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggest that children who are at risk of early childhood cavities visit a pediatric dentist by the Age of 1. At Nova Family Dental children can be seen as young as 6 months. At 6 months we can provide nutritional counseling and educate parents on proper oral hygiene for their children.
For Children 6 months to 3 years of age we suggest visits to the dentist every 3-6 months. During this age children are very prone to cavities. National studies have show that preschool aged children are getting more cavities. More than 1 in 4 children in the United States has had at least one cavity by the age of 4. Our goal is to prevent this and make sure your child has a long life of healthy teeth and gums.
Why is this important?
According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, it is very important to keep primary (or “baby”) teeth in place until they are lost naturally.
Primary teeth are important for many reasons including:
At Nova Family dental
we provide a fun filled environment for your children. We always have a hit movie playing in our theater room. Our game room has a play area, chalk board wall, and 2 Xbox video game machines with fun games for both younger and older children. At the conclusion of each dental visit all patients will receive a token and get a spin on our special toy vending machines!
All of our operatories have ceiling mounted TV’s that play fun filled movies and nitrous oxide (lauging gas). The movies keep the children’s attention while the lauging gas keeps them calm for our doctors to work. We offer tooth colored fillings, and crowns, so your children can smile with confidence.
